Mille Miglia 2014

My lovely wife has just booked us a hotel for 3 nights to watch next years Mille Miglia. 

Has Anyone been before, and can offer any 'tips', best route, areas to view, restaurants, or indeed any useful titbits??

Now, do we take the Jaguar (if I win the lottery!), The MGF (if the head gasket can last that sort of distance), or the sensible Saab diesel estate??

Well, excuse me for baring my ignorance in public but what's "Mille Maglia"?

Hi.

Its a 1000km car race around the roads of Italy, starting from Brescia, to Rome, and back via a different route. It takes 3 days, and was last run properly in 1957. It is now a nostalgia race, more 'fun' than serious, and was won twice by Sir Stirling Moss. Its all 'old cars' and some famous names still racing.
