Headlight deflectors Empty Headlight deflectors

Post by tocyvi Wed Sep 11, 2013 7:10 pm

I returned from a visit to the UK recently and, as always, I completely forgot to use any headlight deflectors. The interesting thing, however, was that during the drive from Dover to the north-east, I was only flashed about half a dozen times. Naturally, I am unable to see exactly how much dazzle I caused to other drivers, but the aforementioned statistic leads me to think that I was not quite the menace I thought. A couple of years ago, I called into the Tunnel departure "lounge" and, after failing to find any beam deflectors in the stores, I went to the Information Desk to ask if I could obtain any. "Don't bother" was the laid-back reply "most drivers don't".

My question to other members who travel back is this: do you use beam deflectors or carry on regardless?

Hi Tocyvi
Lucky for us the old Landrover Freelander has a light adjuster for carrying heavy loads or towing so i just drop it down to setting one. Job's a good'en and no problemo's.

I do the same, just lower the beam. They are still pointing the wrong way but it doesn't seem to bother oncoming cars

But surely the two ton's of processed peas, walls sausages, coffee whitener and sliced bread would counteract that !!!!
