Rain at last!.

Hi folks
We got our wish this evening, The thunder and lightning was most impressive and the rain most welcome. All our water butts are nearly full and every bucket and watering can too. Myriam to the south of us looked to be in the eye of the storm with fork and sheet lightning and what looked like a massive downpour.

Nothing much to speak of in the north of the Creuse. Rumbling of thunder; couple of flashes of lightning and a bit of rain and that was it. Notable drop in temperature though. Although storms often avoid our little area and seem to circle round it, which is quite nice as much as I love storms they also make me feel nervous in case of thunder bolts or lightning strikes

We drove down in to the Dordogne on Sunday, just south of Limousin in the town of Cherveix Cubas the damage from the last storm was horrendous. Most car windows out and all the roofs that had not already been covered by tarpaulins looked like they had been fired at by AK47 s and the velux all smashed to smithereens , best batten down the hatches again tonight just in case!
