Short answer ...Yes  

It could work provided the person posting the recommendation is not the owner/ friend of the owner and it is unbiased etc.

Not sure how that could be monitored though and the forum would have to be very careful if someone gave a rubbish review as we could be liable if untrue.

What does anyone else think about the idea????

I think we should risk it. I also think we should be very careful with negative reviews e.g. evidence based comments and not just "I didn't like it" or "rubbish". We can always remove any postings that we think are too risky.

If you are happy Irena, then I am in agreement... will you set up the new section, or do you want me to??  It will need a sticky at the top outlining the required info and rules

OK, six months on and I am ready to post on yesterday's lunch, but no where to post it. Will the new section be happening?

It's done - there's now a section called 'Restaurant Recommendations'. Looking forward to hearing from everyone.

We could always restrict ourselves to positive comments or "no comment", meaning we didn't like it   , or we could give a judgement of 1 - 5       .
