Hi
you do not say if it is course fishing or game fishing, but you have plenty of both on the local rivers and lakes. The visitor can obtain a holiday/visitors licence which lasts two weeks and can be obtained from many outlets such as the local shops and garages.Tell him to bring two passport size photos for his licence and the jobs a good' un.please note that some places are private/club lakes for which an extra fee is required.

The lake on the right as you approach the roundabout at Seilhac is reserved for fishermen. The lake at Vigeois is also good for fishing.

It looks as though the fishing at Seilhac is delayed until May - http://www.ville-seilhac.com/ouverture-de-la-peche

The trout farm is on the road from Lubersac to Coussac Bonneval, the first turning to the right after the Tourist Information Office in the square. It's always worth a visit as you can fish for carp or trout in the big lake (buying a half day or day ticket) or just catch your tea at the other 'pond' - you have to pay for what you catch, so don't get too carried away!  Very Happy
