Open garden - when? More info?
I can't find the info about the open garden weekend 28-29 June. Where's the post? Is there a website or flyer listing the gardens?
Last year was fun and we're planning to go again.

Re: Open garden - when? More info?
Hi Irena
There's been posts on a number of forums; flyers in numerous outlets; information in local and national press and a further article in La Montagne this Wednesday. Our website, which Alpen has kindly posted, has photos & a description of every garden involved in 2014. Our stated target for this year is 1,000€ towards "A Chacun son Everest", a French charity which organises activities for children with cancer or leukaemia, but we are cautiously optimistic that we will exceed this target.
For those interested, 2015 will witness the next stage of development. Garden owners will be asked when they wish to open their gardens and, consequently, visitors should be able to view gardens throughout the year. In practice, this is likely to be from mid-February to late October. There are already a further 20 gardens promised for 2015, bringing the total to 50, although this will increase considerably as we start our next programme to attract more gardens
The project currently has gardens in 4 départements, but next year this will certainly exist in 8 and probably at least 10 départements. We are now recruiting local co-ordinators to assist with this development. We already have 3 and by Thursday we are likely to have a further 3, one based in the Dordogne, one in the Aquitaine and one in the Charente. We would love to hear from anyone who may be interested in being a co-ordinator. The role is designed to be easily managed and, in a nutshell, revolves around having a small cohort of garden owners, with whom the co-ordinator can keep in touch.
There is plenty of information on the website but for an informal discussion about any aspect of the project (newsletter, co-ordinator, helping in other ways, offering your garden or simply visiting), please contact me on:

Re: Open garden - when? More info?
We had a very enjoyable weekend visiting 15 gardens of all shapes and sizes. Look forward to next years open gardens. Many thanks to Michael Moat for all the time and effort he put into organising it.

Hi Alpen
Thank you so much for such a lovely comment and congratulations on visiting so many! Despite the unkind weather, we far exceeded our original target of 1,000€ and even our subsequent increased target of 1,500€. We still haven't got the final tally but it will certainly be in excess of 2,500€. We have already started working on the plans for 2015 and would love to hear from anyone who has a garden that they would like to offer. Indeed, if you have any interest at all in Open Gardens, please call, write or e-mail and we will be delighted to come and talk over way(s) in which you may be involved. Our conseil has once again adopted the charity "A Chacun son Everest", which organises events for children with cancer or leukaemia, as its beneficiary for 2015.
