Tree & electric cables
I have a tree on our land whose branches are now overhanging the electric cables on the road bordering our land. With the recent windy weather we've been having I've started to wonder what would happen if the tree fell on the electric cables. Would I be liable?
Also, I'd like to cut the branches but it's a big job. Does anyone know if the electricity company would do this for me as it is endangering their electricity supply?
Finally, if the answer to the above is that it's my problem, I'd be liable and the electricity company won't do anything to help then does anyone know of a good tree surgeon?
I am in 87290 near Chateauponsac/Bellac.

Re: Tree & electric cables
Of course you are responsible for damages. You should ask to your insurance company whether it is covered in case of falling on grid line.
I think ERDF could do cutting branches or the whole tree. it would obviously paying. Ask them and the price.
In all cases, even with professional lumberjack, an ERDF intervention will be required to turn off the line power. Security Question!
