I agree, we've been there and enjoyed a lovely meal and a nice atmosphere.

We were at Le Cheval Blanc again last night. Great restaurant. Typical French set up and menu. We really love it here.

We both had the special salad started (a mix of bulgar wheat, red cabbage and other things - delicious), followed by fish for me and liver for him. Then finished with the Cafe Gourmand (extra €3), a great way to sample three of the desserts. 1 litre of rose wine plus two aperitifs and the bill was less than €50.

Its on the crossroads in the centre of Bellac. White building with blue shutters. You can park in the pizza/vegetable shop car park (about 100 metres past the restaurant).

Fixed menu €13. Good choice of wine - pichet and bottles.

Very friendly fun loving owner.

Need to book as it is often full especially on a Friday and Saturday night. They are also open lunchtime but we have only ever eaten there in the evening.
