Car insurance

I am sure this topic has been on the forum before but does anyone know of UK insurers who will provide 12 months European cover? I am in England visiting family and my car has had a major engine failure. As it is uneconomic to repair I am looking to buy and insure a replacement here. We plan to try and sell our house next year and return to England so I do not wish to re-register the car in France. Our Renault Grand Scenic cost €300 to register this year and it would be an unnecessary expense. And yes, as a resident I know I should register it in France.

Herts Insurance never provided a quote so I went with Andrew Copeland Insurance. Premium £381. Seems OK.
