Hi again folks
No it's not the big issue but it is going to be a burning issue among a lot of ex-pats around Europe shortly.

Is this about the scrapping of the WFA for those living in 'hot' countries, or is there some update?

Hi Folks
Got our August copy of the Connexion Newspaper today with the winter Fuel allowance issue  making the news on pages 1,12,13 and 18. The little lady in the top right of the map and photo's from the Correze on page 12 is none other then my better half Sue, or the one the dogs and i must obey!.
The lowest temperature we have known here in the Correze was in 2006 at -21deg when our gas bottles froze and we had tempreatures night and day below -0degs for three weeks. Now all i have to do is figure out how to sign the winter fuel allowance petition mentioned on page 12.
Simmo in the Correze
P.S. Had lunch in Tulle in the Correze today temperture +44deg hot enough to fry an egg on the bonnet of a landrover. Only trouble is (trust me) its a hell of a job trying to get it off.

I saw that article Simmo and was trying to make out if it was you or your wife (no offence but the winter togs made it difficult) Smile . We don't get the Connexion, but as it happens had a free copy delivered quite by chance this morning!

Hi Amber
Trust me its the boss! in her winter toggs and the dogs in tow. The photo was taken on a special trap camera set up in our garden to take photos day or night of our wild life visitors!.the photo was taken by the camera by mistake, i was supposed to have turned it off and recovered the SD card to have a look at the latest photo's on the computer. The old memory is not what it was and i lost the plot that day forgetting to remove it..

You see the winters in france are warm.....you have all been doing the calculation wrong!

OMG... no wonder they came up with the wrong figures. Easy peasy to correct just exclude the overseas territories and only allow WFA claims for mainland France. Not that they will. It does explain Italy !

Hi Tony
Yep Tony as we use to say, they are a waste of rations they could not organise a booze up in a brewery and what frightens me is these numpties are running the country. It also makes you wonder how may other cock ups they have made.

I think the U.K. Government knew exactly what they were doing by including the DOM-TOMS, it's a perfect 'get out' for them.

It amazes me that they try to save money off OAPs which in the great scheme of things is tiny. They would make better savings by tracing some of those offshore accounts that the rich try to hide, but oh of course, some of those are probably politicians, silly me. Laughing Laughing
