So, having deduced an electrical/motor problem with our wonderful Dyson Animal who had given us 8 yrs service without a complaint, I went in search of a new one. We have mainly wooden floors with strategically placed rugs and 8 paws to contend with. Therefore, the Animal has proved ideal at dealing with these floor surfaces and the pet hairs etc. I really wanted to stick with an upright as I can't seem to get on with dragging around a cylinder type.

Having looked at the major stores web sites in France, including Dyson's French version, the only upright Dyson I could find was the "multifloor" - but not Animal. I tried Amazon france and got the same result. So, I decided it was worth paying the £20 delivery charge from Amazon UK to get the Dyson DC41 Animal Mk2. Not only did it come at a price cheaper than anticipated, it arrived a week earlier than signaled on the delivery notice. It was delivered by Parcel Force.

After unpacking and clicking together the component parts necessary to get the thing started I began to vacuum or should I say my "workout". The suction from this thing is incredible and you really have to hang on to it! For something which is "made from ABS and polycarbonate - the same material used to make crash helmets and riot shields" I anticipate having a long lasting relationship with it for some years to come.

Should also add that it's one of the Dyson "ball" vacuums. Takes a bit of getting used to but I'm getting the knack.
Interesting point about registering for the 5 year guarantee; it was bought via Amazon UK but upon the advice of Dyson, I have to register it with Dyson France as it resides in France...so that's what I've done.
