Re: Photo Upload
I was trying to load a photo today but couldn't. However I received the following e-mail which I had not solicited:
Your account has been created
Hello Amber,
You receive this automatic e-mail because your account on "Servimg" - https://servimg.com has been created from your board account.
Please notice that you can log in with the following information :
Login : xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Password : The board one
Servimg.com - Free image hosting service
Surely there is an easier way to be able to post photos without having to have a separate account?

Re: Photo Upload
Ok I will have a go at explaining it.
Firstly in the new topic or reply text box select the icon in the greyed box at the far left of the YouTube logo... looks like a frame inside a frame, and says 'host an image' when you hover the mouse. When the new window opens, click browse and find/select the file on your PC, then click host it. After the photo has uploaded click copy on the second choice down titled image. Then in the original text box just right click the mouse and paste. That should leave a link behind to the picture. When you preview or post the picture should magically appear as below....
Hope that helps

Re: Photo Upload
Odd.. sometimes if it is a big file size it can take a while. The box just sits there or minimizes if you click anywhere else on the screen. Click the host image icon again and the pop up box should re-appear.Apart from that I have no suggestions. Perhaps noodles can enlighten us.
Just tried and it worked for me again.

Re: Photo Upload
Thanks Tony, I'll give it another go.
It was a reduced file size for Forums, but nothing happened at all.

Jellybelly... You had the same problem as Amber. I have no idea what is going on. I just tried again and it works fine for me.
If anyone else is trying to upload pictures in a post and can't do it I am happy to add them for you if you mail me at the address in the previous post

Re: Photo Upload
Hi Tony. I'm following your instructions for uploading a photo. It's fine as far as selecting the photo and clicking "host it". From this point I don't understand your instruction "After the photo has uploaded click copy on the second choice down titled image" because all I get (and I've tried it 3 times) is a box with 3 lines. One says "thumbnail" followed by a url; the 2nd line says"Image" followed by a url and the 3rd says "Image url" followed by a url. There is nowhere to click "copy". I've tried "right-clicking" on "Image" and then "copy" and "paste" in the text box, but, this just copies the url and not the picture...Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong please? Thanks.

Blakevine, once you get the three boxes, highlight the thumbnail one with your mouse, copy it then go to the main message box where you're posting it on the forum and paste it. Initially, you will see a line of script, not the image. Click preview and you should see your image there. All you have to do then is post it. Or you can just post it when you see the line of script and then go check your message.

Re: Photo Upload
Hi Inkflo - I have tried that......I highlighted the thumbnail option and then did "control C" to copy as I could not see any other way of "copying" (right-click options did not include "copy" or indeed "paste". I then did "control V" and "pasted" it into the text box. The result appears under Pets/Animals! The thumbnail option is precisely that (which I have posted) and the image option is clearly the bigger picture....which I have not yet posted.
as for the e-mail I had from Servimg.com - do I just ignore it????????
Thanks

Re: Photo Upload
Did you highlight the box, press ctrl and right click together? That should give you the copy option.

uploading pics
....yes - as well as highlighting the "image" line and doing "control C and then "control V", it also works by highlighting the line and pressing "control and right click" at the same time; this then gives you the "copy" option and from that point you click into the text message field and "right-click" paste - pheeeeewwwww. So after all that I could not resist posting an "image" (not thumbnail) of our wood burner.......complete with ash bucket at back, dust, etc and there are probably a few dog hairs too, but, no dogs on this occasion!
Still don't know why I got an e-mail from "Servimg.com" saying I had to join their service in order to post pictures, so that remains a mystery..........

Hi Amber - thanks for that; we think so too! I've sent you a PM rather than bore people with the history of our fireplace!
