Thanks Tony, I usually say Je le fait, but I wondered if there was a more colloquial term that might fit.

Last time I presented the neighbours with a pot of homemade jam (elderberry - yum), they asked "c'est de la maison?" which I presumed to mean had I made it myself.
De la maison?
Sounds right, I'll use that, thanks Izzy.Izzyedwards wrote:Last time I presented the neighbours with a pot of homemade jam (elderberry - yum), they asked "c'est de la maison?" which I presumed to mean had I made it myself.

Say:
Fait maison.That's the good sentence.
Ex. Un gâteau fait maison, c'est du fait maison. Even an object as: c'est un meuble fait maison.
A restaurer can say that for a dish prepared in his kitchen.
Can also be used for anything not purchased but made or tinkered by yourself.

Thanks very19, now can you please tell me how to say, she's feeling a little better, as in someone recovering from illness?

Elle se sent mieux
Strict translate is "Elle se sent un peu mieux". That is speaking about what feel the person herself, you speak about. But if speaking about her health to someone the sentence more used is "Elle va un peu mieux".Inkflo wrote:Thanks very19, now can you please tell me how to say, she's feeling a little better, as in someone recovering from illness?
Also "Elle va légèrement mieux" for a very small improvement.
Another variant often used to a great improvement in her health is "Elle va beaucoup mieux".
Hope my english understandable:oops:
