WATER BILL THIS YEAR !!

Water bill this year seems a bit expensive ,the bit i object to is the redevance pollution ,know we have a fosse which has been checked as fine ,so where does the pollution bit come in, washing up water perhaps ,do the farmers pay for the pestacides on the land they use ,sorry but these hidden little bits on the bills  

So everyone is happy with thier water bill and has no query about anything !in my hamlet of 7 houses ,5 of the houses have people who have cancer or have died of cancer this seems above the average and all in 4 years ,so is the water good

I do not know what neck of the woods you are in,The Correze had a lot of The big U mined here abouts in the late 40's and up to late 60's. for the french nuclear programme. They have a map on the internet that show's these areas, even the amounts of material extracted from each mine. We have old mines to the north and south of Egletons,as our water comes from a pump house in the woods ,which is on a bed of granite we drink alot of bottled water. We also vent our cave to prevent damp,but also as our maison is built on rock, venting helps to prevent any build up of gases including Radon.

We havent had our water bill yet. Normally the end of this month. I filter the water despite it being potable, purely because of the copper content which may or may not be because of the new (posed 3 years ago) piping.
Only found out about that cos of the kettle turning black

Three year old plumbing and still in copper, how quaint.

Our water bills have always been reasonable...sorry!!! We don't take baths nor water the garden.
We filter the water simply because it makes better tasting tea. It really does, honest.
As for the deaths in your village, if it's anything like ours the average age is well above retirement, but the old folk still look hale & hearty, but let's face it the big C will get us all if we live long enough.

Not really Le Dolly. Was that meant to be as sarcastic as it sounds. We decided to do it that way. Personal choice and all that.

Live 10kms north of Bourganeuf ,dont drink bottled water more things wrong with it so the french news says ,i use filtered water [yes the tea and coffee taste better ]only shower and dont water garden,but bill still seems high .

We don't get ours until December. We get an estimated one for half year in June and the one they read for the remainder at the end for the year.
I think our total water bills were around 200 euros last year.

We haven't had our water bill yet either. It is difficult to compare and obviously it depends on several things, including:-

- whether the water is provided by the commune or private company
- how much you use

We always check how much we have used to check if there are any possible leaks.

If you want to compare with others, perhaps you can state how many cubic metres you have used and what the total price was including or excluding TTC (VAT).

I see Oradour sur glane has bad water polution ,and they are distributing bottled water to all households [on french news ]also water polution in limoge lots of fish dead in one of thier rivers !!!
