A Kettle of Kites? Empty A Kettle of Kites?

Don't know if its a sign of spring, but we saw some 20 or 30 Red Kites together yesterday afternoon. Apparently that would be a kettle, a roost or a soar! Probably not the precursor of fine weather, more likely something edible in the vicinity!
