Carte Vitale updating

Can anyone tell me if we are supposed to put our Carte Vitale through the machine at the CPAM still?
I haven't done so with ours for a few years now and we still get re-imbursed, but I read somewhere that we should be doing it.

There are updating machines in most pharmacies and all hospitals. Once a year, or after any change in your circumstances, you have to update your card by putting it into the machine and pressing the button for "mise a jour". If you haven't done it for a long time but you get regular prescriptions, the people at the pharmacy have probably done it for you without you noticing.

That may be the answer. Maybe they do it each January when they update our mutuelle's for the year.
We are still getting the reimbursements, so I think you are correct.

Ijust give it to my pharmacy [very nice people ]and they do it for you .

I think that must be what our pharmacy does Red, although I've never asked them.
I'll check next visit.

yep thats what they do for me.As the last time i put my card in the machine it took them days to sort it out.
