Skip hire in Creuse? Empty Skip hire in Creuse?

Post by kimwy Thu Jul 03, 2014 6:24 am

We have a number of old matresses and junk left in the house we bought 18 months ago, not had time to sort it out til now. In Uk we would have just hired a skip, so how is it done here? we are in Creuse.

Ask at the Mairie which day the encombrants are collected. There are certain days throughout the year when the lorry picks up all of the stuff too big for the dechetterie. There's a pick up point near each street and you put it out the night before collection day.

Round our way, if you put out your encombrants 24 hours in advance, you find that a succession of rag-and-bone men and brocante owners come along the road and take anything which they can recycle, leaving just the worthless items for the council collection. I quite like the feeling that someone will recycle my unwanted property, and it is always interesting to see which items are perceived by these scavengers to have an intrinsic value.
