What TV adverts annoy you?

I suppose this would be aimed at uk tv watchers like myself.

Some adverts make me unbelievably (and unnecessarily) angry to watch them.

There is a 'pot rice' advert where a bear, for some unknown reason, sings to a guy in an office. The bear has ,for some unknown reason, a large quiff, and then, for some unknown reason, does a stupid shimmy out of camera shot. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!     What is the relevance?????
There was a similar one with a panda selling us 'bisquits' with a mafia style accent . WHY???? Whats a panda crossed with don corleone got to do with biscuits!

My wife cant stand the new merecats advert, the words they are singing along to 'ebony and ivory' are impossible to make out.

So, (opera singing insurance saleman aside, we ALL hate that) what adverts do you hate......or am I the only ad hating weirdo on here??

1. Find poubelle by side of road
   
2. Launch TV set into poubelle
   
3. Regain decent blood pressure

I know i should not like loose women being a fella but i have to say i really enjoy listening to the other halfs thoughts and points of view. I know i must get out more. Adverts well every so often a really good one comes along but you have to watch an awful lot of rubbish till one does.

I dont really watch them lol. Its a running joke between my male friends and I that if you have time to watch them, you have too much free time (sorry Simmo, none taken I hope  

An advert that always made me laugh was for yeallow pages. A guy returns to his flat. His neighbour, an attractive young girl greets him saying that he has had a break-in. In his flat is turmoil, rubbish, furniture overturned etc. He acts like he is really upset at a break-in.

It flashes back to how this guy lives, like a pig! He grabs his coat on the way out, it overturns a chair, he leaves it, the front door doesnt close properly.

He is then seen secretly looking at YP, and phoning a cleaner in a whisper, for a weekly clean. At this point, the girl comes out of his bathroom and says 'You wont believe what theyve done in your toilet '. He has a look of shame on his face.
Can't beat a bit of toilet humour! 

If you dont have a TV, what do you point your furniture at??

Haha, love a bit of toilet humor. Thought it was only us Dutch who could appreciate this type of humor! Well, the furniture turns whatever way wé (read I) want to turn it... I thought that's what one does, but I could be wrong of course  

Many books have been written about toilet humour in english. I didnt know the Dutch were into that as well.  You learn something new every day.

In the uk, there are few houses with wood burners, so there is no problem with the direction of your furniture, it points at the TV. Here in rural France, with a woodburner in every home, this poses a real problem as to which item your seating to face. I have come up with the solution, and have the TV next to the woodburner. I am wasted on building works, should have been an interior designer.

Well, whatever takes your pleasure. Mine is the woodburner any time in winter  .

But it shows the same thing all day every day lol.
Cant beat it for roasting your nuts though.....there we go, toilet humour again!

My Memory is not what it was but i think they had a few more as well as those two. But i have to agree most are a load of rubbish and awful and bare no relationship to the product that is being avertised.

I love the one with the bloke in speedos on walking along the beech, I think its whisky or southern comfort, it makes me smile every time. 

Reading this ,most of which i did not understand ,i take it this is all english tv   do any of you have french tv for the news ect ect   french adverts seem to be all sante ,or selling cars .

It does say in my original post that this is aimed at UK TV watcher.   . Yes, we have french TV, but they dont have Top Gear or River Monsters or comedies that make me laugh.

Redburmese. I have no TV but I do watch programmes now and again on TV'replay. And unfortunately the worse thing is you are often subjected to the same advert again and again and again. If they are short you get it repeated until the time allocated for the adert is used up!!! You cant skip them either. As you say mostly selling cars or the latest is Hotels.com

The funniest 5-10  minute prog at the moment is Nos Chers Voisins 'ch 1 ,20-35 even hubby laughs at this one

The french adverts are now still new cars but now back up health insurance is on all the time [must be that time of year ],when we are all ill ,comeing up sneeze cough  cough
