Credit Agricole Bank
We live in the UK and our French Bank has sent a letter requesting details of our National Insurance Number and whether or not we spend more than 183 days in France.
Probably due to taxes, might be to do with the B word.
We only spend at max 6 weeks at our house near to Uzerche and do not work or have any income generated in France.
Has anyone else got a similar letter and is this a legitimate request.

Sorry for this, but I seem to be answering my own post.
Because of the reciprocal tax agreements, France has to declare to the UK any money that you have here which may be liable for tax. It's a formality and they just need your UK tax code - not your N.I. number - and they will pass the info to the UK tax authorities.
Is this a legal requirement ?
