La Souterraine restaurant

We are meeting up with friends from the UK for lunch in La Souterraine on 29th July. Suggestions / recommendations for a decent cafe / restaurant would be appreciated as we do not know the town very well.

I would recommend Le Passe Muraille. I've eaten there several times and I've never been disappointed

I have to agree, Le Passe Muraille is by far the best of the restaurants in La Souterraine, and very keenly priced. Highly recommended. If the weather is good, perhaps your repas could be taken in the courtyard at the rear.

Good choice. They do a bl00dy good Steak Tartare, but perhaps a little heavy for a lunch.

Thanks for the website details Le Dolly. Does anyone know the lunchtime hours as we would like to arrive around one-ish but don't want to be missing out on the best choices?

Met our friends from Durham and had a very enjoyable meal. Lunch service is from 12.00 to 13.30. We had arranged to meet at 13.30 but fortunately both of us were early so we were able to get a table. The restaurant was full which for a Tuesday shows how popular it is.
