Me too, made á la Delia but with a tad of grated chocolate, home grown chillis and half a teaspoon of freshly made ras al hanout which adds a slight touch of spicy sweetness.

I normally use Thai fragrant rice rather than basmati but today I used Riz Méditerranée de Camargue by Taureau Aile (red box in Carrefour). It has a bit more body than basmati or Thai but seemed to go nicely with the chilli.

I had a bit of the chilli left over so I will freeze it and then use it as base for risotto.

It will be Spag Bol tonight, but substituting anchovies for the normal steak mince with Garlic Bread to accompany. Clafoutis to follow after the cheese.

This evening we will be dining on Paella Mixta. All the usual suspects will be on parade, calasparra rice, chicken, r&g peppers, peas, onions, saffron & chilli, ably assisted by what a squeamish friend calls 'squidgy bits', prawns of various types, crayfish, mussels, octopus, squid, clams and scallops.
Yum! Yum!

Sounds delicious Le-Dolly Very Happy
Today it is chicken again, as the BBQ yesterday wasn't planned. I am doing Poulet sauté au vinaigre, (found the recipe on the OTHER forum) & not sure if to serve it with rice or the norm potatoes & 2 veg, leeks & peas on this case!!
Dessert is left over syrup sponge, which went down a treat, but we all ate too much chicken as it was so, so good!!!

Tonight will be spicy lamb-burgers, topped with slow roasted beef tomatoes. Saute potatoes and a celery, cumin and carrot salad on the side.

I am blinkin' loving this thread. So many great ideas. We tend to get into a bit of a rut with eating the same dishes time and time again, so nice to get some inspiration from all of you!

Yes Le-Dolly, the one & same although I felt the recipe was over complicating matters, I think it could be done a lot easier with the same effect.... watch this space!!! Wink
It was a major hit, kids couldn't get enough, I was a little concerned it would be too strong a flavour, especially for Florence (the 4year old) but I needn't have worried. Defo a keeper!!!

Tonight it is left over Spit roast chicken & salad but with spicy home made potato wedges. Home made bread pudding for dessert Very Happy
Thanks Le-Dolly for resurrecting this thread, it has got me back to reading the forums hence yesterdays dinner bounce

My pleasure, but it was your thread, I just re-purlioned it.

Tonight's starring attraction will be Wiener Schnitzel, but with pork instead of veal, served with Beetroot in a Polish style, shredded, hot and with bacon bits running through it and White Pepper Mash. Cheese to follow and then...............I don't know yet.
Yum! Yum!

Stop Press!!!
By popular demand, it was Clafoutis.

Tonight it is a simplified version of carbonara- sautéed lardons, diced onion to soften, then add garlic, paprika, black pepper, salt (if needed), a splash of white wine, crème fraiche, cooked fusilli pasta (easier for my 4 year old to eat) along with a splash of the pasta water to loosen the sauce a little, & lastly, a squirt of lemon juice just to cut through the creaminess. Serve with crusty French bread, nom, nom.
As the kids ate a little later than normal tonight- dessert tonight (for the kids) is hot chocolate with whipped cream & marshmallows with madeleine's to dip in, they don't know it yet though- about to go & do the magic now!!Wink )

Tonight, after what seemed an endless day at the work face, I just could not be bothered. So it was Pizza, 50% off at Carrefour, ( I didn't even make it myself) with added Chorizo from my brother in Spain and a few veggies. To follow the cheese course, a bowl of Amoretti biscuits soaked in Disaronno with home-made Vanila Ice Cream.
Yum! Yum!

Was the batter home made as well??

I do miss fish & chips Sad but really try not to use the deep fat fryer for the kids, we save treats like that for eating out....

Tonight it will be curries for fourteen lost souls, the majority French and two pair of Anglo's. We will be trying to enjoy Turkey Korma (for the softies), a Malay curry with Mushroom & Cauli, a Prawn Madras and a Duck Vindaloo. Basmati to assist with Saag Aloo, Saag Paneer, Garlic & Coriander Naan, Keema Naan, home-made Bhajji's, Pappadums and various Chutneys & Pickles. For pud, we will be having Balinese Rice Pudding(if there is space).
Yum! Yum!

Double egg and chips, probably the best double yolkers in the creuse, chips triple fried in fresh oil, with thin sliced white bread and butter, and lashings of ketchup.
